Rethinking the path to independence

Welcome to Rethinkable;

Rethinkable is a floating support service specialising in mental health, designed to equip individuals with the tools and resources they need to improve their well-being and independence. We are experienced in working with mental health and have supported people living with a wide range of conditions, including hoarding. Our approach is always tailored to meet individual needs and preferences.

Our support is offered in two formats:

  • A one-off, declutter and deep clean (spread over several days), or

  • A slower, more gradual approach through regular weekly sessions.

This flexible structure allows clients to stay in control while receiving the guidance and encouragement they need at their own pace. We go through each item with the client, and they remain fully in control of what is removed from their property. Our role is to provide gentle, practical support to ease any stress or anxiety during the process.

Importantly, we can offer follow-up support after an initial declutter to help maintain progress and prevent things from becoming overwhelming again in the future.

We believe that a safe, organised living environment is essential to mental and emotional well-being. That’s why we start at home.. Our approach to decluttering is rooted in empowerment—helping clients gain the confidence and skills to manage their own space independently. While we are here for as long as needed, our ultimate aim is to support individuals toward a place where they feel able to maintain their home environment without ongoing help.

Floating support

Our floating support service is person-centred, focusing on empowering individuals to live independently and confidently manage their home environments. Support workers meet with each person weekly, working alongside them to develop practical skills and build sustainable habits for maintaining their homes long-term.

Our Services

Deep clean and reset

When a home has become unsafe or difficult to manage, we may recommend a one off declutter and deep clean to create a fresh starting point. During this process, we work alongside the individual to declutter, reorganise, and clean their space to a safe and comfortable standard — always at their own pace. Ongoing weekly support can then be offered, if needed, to help maintain the space and reinforce new habits.
