Rethinking the path to independence

Welcome to Rethinkable;

We are a specialist hoarding and self-neglect support service, providing compassionate, practical in-home assistance for individuals facing complex challenges.

Our work focuses on helping people live safely and independently in their own homes, recognising the unique needs, preferences, and goals of each person.

We are biohazard-trained, enabling us to safely and sensitively manage complex environments, including professional cleaning, waste removal, and infection control.

Our person-centred, strengths-based approach means we listen, respect individual choices, and support people to build confidence, improve wellbeing, and increase independence. We develop practical, tailored solutions that reflect what matters most to each person, while promoting dignity, safety, and quality of life.

Our Approach

A safe, organised home is fundamental to mental and emotional well-being. Our specialist team works with individuals experiencing hoarding behaviours or self-neglect, providing tailored, practical support to help them reclaim and manage their living spaces.

We deliver support flexibly, based on the individual’s needs — whether over consecutive full days, half-days, or scheduled visits — always ensuring our approach is safe, professional, and sensitive.

Every intervention is person-centred and strengths-based, respecting choices, promoting independence, and supporting lasting positive change.

Community Focus

Rethinkable is a socially driven organisation committed to improving mental health, independence, and quality of life within the community.

Our work supports wider goals such as:

  • Reducing isolation and promoting mental health and well-being.

  • Supporting sustainable tenancies and helping prevent homelessness.

  • Collaborating with councils, housing associations, and mental health services to provide joined-up, effective support.

  • Offering accessible, non-judgmental help to those who might otherwise fall through the gaps.
