FAQs

How can I pay for your service?

For those who are entitled to Social Care Funding following a Needs Assessment, the direct payment method can be used to pay for support when choosing us as a service provider. Our services can be provided in conjunction with another support agency who cover other aspects of support. The Social Care Funding is applicable to those who are entitled to Section 117 aftercare. You will be invoiced monthly and have 14 days to submit payment, many people find a direct debit is the easiest way to pay, we can provide support with setting this up, if needed.

Please note, the pricing for an initial deep clean will be priced separately to the support offered after. We do not want anyone to feel that money is a barrier to accessing our service, if you feel you would benefit from our support, please reach out to the team who will do their best to find a solution.

If you feel you need support but are not in a position to pay for this yourself, you can apply for a needs assessment by following this link https://www.gov.uk/apply-needs-assessment-social-services.

We want our service to be accessible to everyone, this is why we are currently looking into different funding options for those who cannot pay for our service themselves.

We also work with private clients who will be invoiced monthly to pay for their support.

How do you create support agreements and weekly plans?

We will start a support agreement during the initial consultation. This gives us a chance to talk to you about what you would like to achieve from the service and ensures your support is tailored to you. After this consultation, we will write up the support agreement with you and have you sign this to ensure you agree with the support that will be provided. These will be reviewed and adapted regularly, with more focus on the things you are finding helpful and filtering out the parts which are not working for you.

Following the support agreement, we will break down your support goals into manageable weekly plans, designed to help you accomplish tasks each week. These will be different each week depending on what you have got on during your week and again, are completely person-centred and specific to you.

What experience do you have?

Both Ori and Laura have a history of mental health and caring careers as well as personal life experiences in mental health.

With over 6 years of mental health experience combined and a further 4 years in caring roles, both Ori and Laura are DBS checked, insured and trained in emergency first aid and mental health first aid.

As well as this, Laura and Ori have training certificates in Understanding Autism, Mental Health Awareness, Fire safety, Health and Safety, Safeguarding Adults, Safeguarding level 2, Safeguarding Children, GDPR, Equality and Diversity, Infection Control, Drug and Alcohol and NAPPI training.

Do you work with hoarding disorders?

Yes! Our service includes working with those who have a hoarding disorder as well as many other mental health disorders. Our deep cleaning service is priced per job and this is dependant on the size of the property, or rooms requiring cleaning and time that it will take to clear.

We work alongside the client to sort, declutter and clean and the client is involved in all decisions. We understand this can be a daunting experience and our staff provide support on site throughout. Our floating support service can be used after the initial deep clean and this aims to maintain spaces long term.

The client will be required to pay for a skip as an addition to our costs.

Which areas do you work in?

Rethinkable is based in Tunbridge wells. We offer support in Kent and East Sussex. We are looking at ways to expand our service so we are available to a wider group of people in due course.

If you are unsure whether we are able to support you in your current location, please get in contact and we can discuss this with you.

How long do you support people for?

Our support can also last for as long as you need it to. We know fixed time limits are not always advantageous and some people may require our service for a longer period than others. There is no fixed time scale on the length of time that support will be offered, although the type of support will change over time dependant on the progress being made.

We work with people from the start, right through until they no longer need our service and the amount of support will vary dependant on personal needs. As your independence grows, the support will gradually reduce until it isn’t needed. Our goal is to ensure people are fully independent and confident in their skills before we stop support and this is why our support may reduce from weekly support, to monthly, to phone calls over the time you are with us.

Our service is completely bespoke to each individual and we work to provide a flexible system for each person.

How quickly can support be put in place?

Once we have received your application, you will receive a call from a member of the team to discuss a bit more about what you are hoping to achieve. During this phone call, we will arrange for a member of staff to visit you for the initial consultation at a time convenient for you. We aim for support to start within two weeks of the initial consultation, but we can be flexible on this if you need some more time.
