ABOUT US
Rethinkable was founded by Ori and Laura in 2024 as a solution to a gap in quality support on offer to those in the community, who require assistance with maintaining their homes and accessing the community. They recognised the need for a service that not only offers support with initial cleans, but the life skills needed to maintain it going forward.
The staff at Rethinkable are driven by a desire to offer the best support possible to those they work with; celebrating the small wins with the big, empowering independence and offering a stepping stone to a more solid, fulfilled future.
We, at Rethinkable, recognise that support needs to be consistent yet flexible and person-centred. We take the time to find a solution that will work long term and build confidence along the way.
Ori and Laura had previously been working within the mental health sector for a number of years. Their most recent employment being in a mental health supported accommodation; where they supported people to learn the life skills needed to live independently.
When the decision was made to withdraw funding for supported accommodations across Kent in 2023, many of those supported accommodations closed, leading Ori and Laura to carry out some extensive research into what services were now available. They found there were limited services offering quality support, specifically around the life skills needed for home maintenance; whether it be during the initial moving in process, or for those whose circumstances have led them to find it difficult to keep on top of things at home and subsequently being unsure of where to start.
This is when they decided to set up Rethinkable, they wanted to fill this gap in support and provide a service that offers assistance in this area of daily living from the very beginning, through to when the support is no longer needed.
